Description of the session:
Pose²idon is aiming to enable electric propulsion to a larger range of vessels by reducing the size of the propulsion plant and provide the added protection requirements necessary for the higher power levels and reduced emissions in port by providing a port shore supply system. The presentations show: 
HTS Machines and Distribution for Ship Propulsion Technology; developing small generators and motors that utilise high temperature superconductivity and HTS distribution of the power required.
Shore Supply; developing novel integrated shore supply system on board ship that easily integrate with external shore supply
Novel Protection System; developing a new approach to arc flash protection that decreases the risk of major damage to ship systems and equipment.
