3rd day plenary session:
Decarbonisation and future energy forms in transport
Decarbonisation and the use of diversified sources of energy is the most crucial challenge for transport in the years to come. Innovation and technological progress will provide a combination of solutions that require high amounts of research and technological development to become true alternatives to the present transport system that depends on the availability on fossil fuels. The aim will be that towards horizon 2020, a major deployment of these alternative technologies (e.g. electric cars, the use of second generation bio-fuels, specialized urban vehicles, low emission marine engines, etc) can be initiated. The invites speakers coming from the European commission, leading manufacture industries and Worl associations will address the above topis and will show the ways to achieve the desired targets.
