1st day plenary session:

EU 2020 objectives on transport innovation: from research to deployment
This session will set the scene for the future transport research in the EU and in other countries and will demonstrate the need for bringing even closer research and deployment in the transport sector. It will also stress the important role of Transport in the economic development of Europe and its social and territorial cohesion. Five personalities from the European Parliament, the EU Council, the European Commission and from the European transport industry, will deposit their views about the session theme. Invited speakers will focus on the need for a more effective innovation framework in order to mitigate the effects on the environment from the required mobility level in Europe. The necessary links between education, business, research and innovation will be among others in the heart of this session. Finally the EU Common Strategic Framework (CSF) will provide a common frame to inter-link these different aspects of innovation
