Closing session:
Preparing the future of an integrated transport system for Europe

In the future, to respond to the ever increasing mobility demand, transport solutions must become more and more integrated. In line with the new White Paper on Transport, the long term perspective will be the advent of a European Transport System that is fully interoperable and provides seamless connections between the different transportation modes.  The session will look at the future of transport systems and draw conclusions on research priorities, in relation to the Strategic Transport Technology Plan (STTP). Five keynote speakers, holding important positions within the EU will highlight the obstacles of the past and will address the vital steps that should be taken in the near future in order to achieve the goals of an integrated sustainable transport system for Europe.

The closing session will be followed by the handling over of TRA2012 to the French organisers IFSTTAR who will host TRA2014 in Paris!
